Tis the Season! 

 

A warm Christmas greeting from the Christkindlmarkt in Nuremberg, Germany, one of the largest of its kind! 

 

I dropped into Germany again for a weekend to soak in some history and peruse the length of the Christkindlmarkt hunting for Christmas stocking stuffers and to satisfy my tastebud’s desire for more hardy German fare after the tease in Cologne. Sausage and kraut, knick knacks and wooden toys, lights and wreaths, Gothic Protestant and Catholic cathedrals, wrapped candies, gingerbread men and hot chocolate, castles and Albrecht Durer’s refurbished home. And did I mention sausage and sauerkraut?
